Life has been very very busy here in Australia. We've been flat out like a lizard drinking. LOL. A little Aussie slang there for you. :)
Let's see, we have moved in with Joe's Aunt and Uncle down in Wollongong. We are enjoying it very much! We've got our own little Granny Flat in the backyard and can come and go as we please. Its working out well for everyone! We share the cooking duties and have family style dinners most week nights. It's good!
One of our major projects right now is refinishing this unique cabinet that we got at the Salvos, or salvation army. The project is a bit bigger than we thought it would be, but we are having fun doing it. I am planning on posting a how to guide when it is all finished, mainly because we have learned so much in the process!
Front.
Inside the cabinet, once we took the doors off.
One of the things that I'm getting used to here in Oz is the sheer size of things. The bugs are HUGE! The following pictures are WORMS!!! They were easily well over a foot long. Kinda puts the little 4 inch worms I played with as a kid to shame.
A worm and my size 10 shoe. OMG
Another worm. Can you tell I was impressed.
While we were in Sydney with the Kiwis, we took the underground system and in one of the stations came across an escalator made of WOOD! It was so cool!
SEE! WOOD!!!
Another view of the treads.
Wooden escalator.
What do you do when you want to hang up a picture but can't fins a hammer?
Use a beer bottle of course!
Joe thinks this is funny... so do I! :)
In other random news, I've gone back to school for HR and Joe's job search is going well. And now we have to go visit the cat! YAY! Cyas
